The Four Corners Region And Marker

Shiprock, New Mexico

The beauty of the Four Corners Region!

I realize there is so much more to the Four Corners region than just the actual spot that many tourists visit where the four state of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah meet. For instance, southeastern Utah has some of the most amazing red sandstone areas including Arches National Park, Canyonlands and Mexican Hat. Arizona has the Canyon De Chelly National Monument and the Monument Valley region in the Navajo Reservation. New Mexico is home of the ancient volcano now known as "The Shiprock" (photo above), and Colorado offers old mining towns, ski slopes and dramatic Rocky Mountain scenery in the San Juan range.

Yet, for what it's worth, here are just two photos from the Four Corners region. They're not the greatest, I'll admit, but they're just a couple of shots from when I bicycled across Colorado in 2003 and finished my trip at the Four Corners monument. :)

Below is a photo of the actual four corners spot.
